SITTING in front of my computer and talking to my life partner, and wife, Vamp:)= was when the concept of the story of the Nekonomicon burst into my mind. The tele behind me announced Anime month on the Space Channel, four anime movies during the month. One of the movies was "Night on the Galactic Railway" an anime depiction of Kenji Miyazawa's story of the same name.

And so the following day, I started busy to work on "Rhichard's Night," a story which was for me a tribute to two writers who greatly inspired my early work, and to whom some of my work had been compared to in the past. H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.

Then I began the second tale of the series, "Dog Eat Dog World," which remains incomplete. This story began with the simple idea of telling a story of horror from the eyes of three close friends. Thaddeus, Bruce and Fluffers. These characters came alive while the story grew and grew into something much more than a short tale of horror. The Nekonomicon spilled forth its feline energy into the tale, and became a tale of these three comrades as they searched for this elusive book.

The main character himself was inspired by tales my partner shared with me about her friend . It was from these tales and some of the voices deep inside my head that the character Thaddeus Ludwig Cornelius was born. At the same time as I wrote this tale, other short stories were written, including two with this character.

"Black Covers" was a dark tale that explained much about the horrors that sent the three friends on their journey in search of the fabled Nekonomicon. The other story, "Thaddeus Ludwig Cornelius" spoke about the beginnings from where this wonderful character found his life. The latter story was a dark tale of pollution of the soul, and found it's inspiration from Naeem Murr's book "The Boy".

Other tales have followed under the shroud of "Dog Eat Dog World," many of them having little to do with this long tale. One story however, "Tale of Bastet," is a story from Bruce's past, and speaks about the origins of Nekonomicon and the legends of Bastet, as told by his mother. This story too, is still presently incomplete.

I hope you take the time to enjoy the Nekonomicon and also take the time to check out some of the books I've mentioned, and other inspirations from the Suggested Reading, Listening and Viewing page.
